Your role

Responsibilities.

  • Handle the trade finance side of our deals with our financing banks
  • Present deals to the banks and manage the ongoing communication
  • Keep positions and reconcile balances with banks
  • Contribute to the initiation and review of credit facilities
  • Coordinate daily with Operations, Treasury, Traders and Accounting
  • Check contractual payment terms and deal details with internal counterparties
  • Draft LC/SBLC wordings and negotiate them with suppliers and buyers
  • Ensure payments and LC/SBLC issuances are arranged within contractual deadlines
  • Follow up on storage financings and issue releases as due
  • Present complying documents to banks for payment under export LCs
  • Calculate finance cost
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team
Your profile

Requirements.

  • University degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred
  • 8-10+ years of experience in banking and trade finance
  • Strong reputation and track record working with trade finance banks
  • Sound knowledge of trade finance payment terms and familiarity with Incoterms
  • Hands-on experience with banking products such as LCs, SBLCs and SWIFT payments
  • Comfortable in a multi-cultural, international commodity trading environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills — problem solver, decisive, well organised
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) — English is the working language; French and/or German are a plus
  • Solid proficiency with everyday IT tools
